MAKE FAIRTRADE YOUR HABIT - choose Fairtrade products

Fairtrade Fortnight

 25 February to 9 March 2008

CHANGE TODAY - CHOOSE FAIRTRADE

Fairtrade products are becoming a great success story (there are nearly 3,000 now) but we still want to make sure people know about them and buy them. That’s what Fairtrade Fortnight is all about.

It’s a great opportunity to organise your own event of some kind (like a coffee morning). See the Fairtrade Foundation website www.fairtrade.org.uk where you can download an action guide which is full of ideas and see all the free resources available.

The local Fairtrade groups are pushing to persuade more cafes and restaurants to serve FT products so please help by asking for them whenever you get a chance. They’ll be producing a new guide for Portsmouth so let them know if you can use copies.

They’d also like to see more schools taking on the challenge to become Fairtrade schools. There are loads of good ideas on www.fairtradeschools.net and members of the local group are happy to help. Contact Sue James on 92 250267 or sue.james@yahoo.com if you’d like to discuss this.
